Virginia Water

The other day I went to explore Virginia Water and I was so impressed! I couldn't believe something that awesome was sitting at my door step and I never realised the vast enormity of it... my favourite part was seeing the mini waterfall.

This was me at the top of the mini waterfall - it was a considerable drop

We followed a pheasant into a bush

This lake reminded me of the lake from Harry Potter, like a hippogriff could just fly over the trees and that be completely normal

My Athens Adventure!

Athens...

A few weeks ago in February, I contracted a bad case of the travelling bug! And all because my 'super selfish' friend whisked me off to an incredible trip to Paris...
Since then all I've wanted to do is get on a plane and just explore the world! It was a very quick transition. Well, we all have to start somewhere so I started off with the incredible city of Athens! All these photos were taken on my Nokia Lumia 920 and at first I was worried because I didn't have my Pentax K-r to take photos on but I was really surprised at how good the photos came out and how little I had to compromise when taking the photos! I want to add some more photos soon and put some of them through photoshop but these are the ones so far anyway!
I haven't really posted any photos (or much of anything in a while to be honest) but i'm hoping that's going to change over the next couple of weeks!

Athens is like the photographers dream! As well as the usual sightseeing photography you can do pretty much anywhere, if you walk down a side street (be aware of the dangers though obviously) and you see a completely different side of the city! I loved seeing all the different graffiti (or art) all over the walls...

Some work

I know I've only had a few volunteer film work jobs while I've been at university, but it's all so exciting and I'm learning a lot and getting much more confident in what is generally expected of me and others and what I should and shouldn't be doing. But I guess that's the point, learn it now so you dont make mistakes when you get a real, paid job... dont get me wrong though, I'm having so much fun with all these different jobs and tasks!
For example, getting to go to all kind of secret and hidden places at Holloway has been SO cool! I got to go film underground in the tunnels and see some really old art work from the archives that haven't been put on show on a really long time! And we're going to film in London next saturday, i'm also excited because I'm hoping that I've another volunteer job in april - I'm just trying to literally do as much as possible. And as long as I'm breathing I can always do more :D

Some pictures from the tunnels!

Killing time in London

I've never seen the red London Eye, I know this is a cliche shot of the touristy london eye shot but I thought it looked pretty cool in the red.

I was meant to meet a friend around half four, but she missed her train... so now she wouldn't be getting in until half seven.
I mean it could've been worse, I was in a really nice, busy area of London! I took a walk over to covent garden and found this INCREDIBLE macaroon shop and while I was walking back to the station the cool food market was on too!

I really want to try going to London again and just wonder about, it's fun having no plans and no pressure - ive heard you can get really cheap theatre tickets if you turn up at the last minute, so maybe i'll try that next weekend!

The Stop Motion Angel

THE STOP MOTION ANGEL

As promised (though a bit late) here is the Christmas stop motion I made! This was my first stop motion I've tried to do properly and I think it actually went pretty well! The hardest thing for me was probably in the editing and getting all the timing right. Obviously it was also hard during the actual filming and trying to make all the shots appear seamless, I mainly wanted to do this stop motion because I saw an INCREDIBLE stop motion by one of my favourite youtubers - they don't quite compare BUT I was really please with this first outcome.

Bike path

This was one of those spare of the moment shots I took on my way to a seminar. I got some odd looks BUT considering I took it and edited it on my phone, I think it came out really well!

I love coming across scenes when you literally just have to stop everything and take the shot.

Modelling Head Shots

So here's something new!

I've just spent the morning taking male head shots for my brothers latest career venture and I think considering it was both our first times at trying something like this it actually went pretty well! I tried different angles and the whole 3 point lighting thing but the hardest thing for me was focusing on everything at once! Like the aperture of the camera as well as the focus and trying to keep the model comfortable and relaxed.

These are a few of the shots that we took - I haven't edited them at the moment but im womdering if I should or if I need too. I was trying to copy some of the things I saw in other head shots I've seen online...

I think this is my favourite for his head shot

But then at the end when it all got a bit serious I thought it was wonderful that my crazy mother felt it was necessary to have a go - it was great fun!

I love this shot, its so happy and joyful!
